ARTISTS SUBMISSION POLICY

We are a gallery with a very narrow focus: Representing extablished and emerging Catskill Region & Hudson Valley Artists (U.S.A.) with a strong emphasis on American Realism. All submissions are through general mail delivery ONLY. You may also send slides or a CD disc of your artwork. The review requirements are listed below and support materials should be sent to the Gallery mailing address, attn: ARTIST SUBMISSION. Please remember to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your materials.

R E V I E W R E Q U I R E M E N T S

If you are interested in being considered for an Exhibition/Representation in Delhi and Upstate Catskill Region of New York at the Viviana Hansen Gallery, the requirements for review are listed below. For best results, follow these instructions carefully. We are interested in artists who love to paint or sculpt professionally, who are extremely steady performers, who can meet deadlines with high-quality work, and who continually seek to improve. We and our clients expect nothing short of this kind of all-out effort. Our review procedure entails showing your slides to key collectors as well as the staff. Thus the review takes time as we assemble persons who we believe would be interested in you and your work.

Send your presentation to the Gallery and allow us 60 - 90 days to respond. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that we may return your presentation.
Painters must submit slides or CD of at least 30 works completed within the last two years.
Sculptors must submit slides or CD of at least 15 works completed within the last three years.
Photographers must submit slides or CD of at least 30 works completed within the last two years.
Slides or CD must be marked with measurements, medium, date of completion and the artist's net price (this is the price to you, not retail.)
Your presentation must include an up-to-date resume of museum standards - e.g. citing education, periodicals, collectors, shows, teachers, etc.
Your presentation should also include a letter of application which includes the following: all gallery affiliations; why you believe our Gallery would be the right place for you; what exhibition commitments you have over the next five years; a brief description of the work you envision for the next five years; local collectors; museum collections; as much personal information as you deem appropriate to let the selection committee get to know you; and a description of your working/studio habits.

We generally start our newly selected artists by including them in Group shows. We appreciate your interest and assure you that each application will be given due and serious consideration. Thanks!
